1st Shift Stacker Operator
Summary
Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Stacker Operator. This position will be responsible for operating the stacker machine and ensuring boards are being stacked uniformly. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.
Essential Duties:
- Observes all safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment.
- Daily performance of preventative maintenance on stacker equipment and identifying potential mechanical issues, keeping equipment in condition to effectively meet goals.
- Inspects wood products during machining and upon completion.
- Maintains equipment and work area cleanly and safely.
- Recommends changes to improve processes and procedures, improving quality and productivity.
- Collects production data as required and inspects own work.
- Identify opportunities for process, quality, and safety improvements.
- Support quality expectations, and demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of quality on productivity.
- Demonstrate understanding of stacker operations, including proper production levels, safety, and basic care.
- Communicate effectively with employees at various organizational levels, including production, maintenance, supervisory and corporate staff, to report any issues that impact safety, quality, or production.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials on completion of job operations.
- Sort and arrange lumber, timbers, and finished goods according to sizes and grades to allow for easy identification.
Education and/or Experience:
- No prior experience or training. High School diploma or GED preferred.
