Business Systems Analyst (Remote)
JOB SUMMARY
The Business Analysts partners with Product Managers and business project teams to drive process improvements and achieve goals through technology solutions.
This position is an individual contributor role in a fast-paced, small-company work environment. The Business Analyst must be able to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization to support delivery of innovative solutions.
The Business Analyst will be a subject matter expert in assigned systems/functions and support Product Managers with the creation of business requirements, process improvement documentation, system configuration, training materials and support. Many times, the Business Analyst leads the solicitation of requirements and identification of business process improvements. The position stays aligned with business to ensure systems meet defined business goals. The position also proactively identifies areas of improvement based on systems support, data and trends. Finally, the Business Analyst may maintain systems configurations and support the daily operations of the systems.
Successful candidates will have a strong sense of ownership, detail-oriented approach, enjoy driving initiatives to closure, and can effectively operate in both technical and business-oriented settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Business process definition – obtain understanding/expertise, lead sessions to recommend, define, and document data and process flows; Proactively identify areas of system improvements based on system support and data trends

Requirements management – lead sessions to generate ideas, document specifications, requirements, user stories, workflows; Manage a backlog of requirements for assigned systems

Documentation – create artifacts such as requirements traceability matrix, testing/validation documents, and end-user materials
-
Vendor management – evaluate new products and lead product selection with IT leaders; may include managing vendors or consulting partners for systems configuration and/or custom development

Team and project management – develop project plans and work with technology/product management and SMEs to implement systems and enhancements

Training and application support – training and end-user support for internal staff
-
System administration – for select systems, may assist or become the expert on system configuration to meet business needs
QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Applications Analyst Implementation Analyst, Product Owner, or related role

BS in Business or Information Technology related field or equivalent job experience

Strong analytical and documentation skills required

Exposure to multiple diverse business applications

Experience documenting user requirements, use cases, process maps, and solution options

Good collaboration, presentation and leadership skills

Ability to multi-task and deliver results across competing initiatives

Light project management experience, including documenting a high-level project plan and status reporting

Clinical research or healthcare experience is preferred but not required
