Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will support with the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring children receive the highest standard of care and education.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Room Leader, Deputy Manager, and Nursery Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Providing high-quality learning and care for the children attending Little Learners.
  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment, following health and safety policies.
  • Work as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Uphold and implement all nursery policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a high standard of care and learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Keep accurate records of children’s development through observations and assessments.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children’s well-being and development.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Manager.

Person Specification

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in an early years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Paediatric first aid qualification (within the last 3 years).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate, support, and mentor a team.
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.
  • Knowledge of room organisation and free-flow environments.
  • Competent in using IT systems for record-keeping and communication.
  • Professional, confident, and resilient.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and passionate about child development.

Desirable

  • Basic food hygiene certificate.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections and SEND support.
  • Good standard of IT and numeracy skills.
  • Desire to continue professional development (CPD).
  • A sense of humour and collaborative approach to teamwork.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.81 per hour
