Grant Data and System Management Officer, GPE

About the position

The Grant Data and System Management Officer position at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is a critical role aimed at overseeing the management of grant-related data and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data entry and updates across relevant systems. The incumbent will lead a small team responsible for coordinating daily activities and ensuring efficient execution of tasks related to grant data management and reporting. This position is based in Washington, DC, with the possibility of relocation if business needs require it. The role requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate collaboration across different time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Support overseeing the management of grant-related data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in data entry and updates across relevant systems.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regular data reports and dashboards to track the status of grants, disbursements, and other key metrics.
  • Create in-depth analytics to show trends in data which provides deeper insights for managerial decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality standards and perform routine data validation and quality checks.
  • Support the development, management, and enhancement of the grant management system (GMS) or any other relevant tools used for tracking grants.
  • Work closely with IT or systems teams to address any technical issues related to grant data or systems.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate data entry, reporting, and analysis processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members on day-to-day tasks related to data entry, reporting, and system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks, fostering a supportive and cooperative work environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in information systems, Business Administration, Data Science, statistics or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with one year in a similar function, focused on data management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Basic leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Proven experience in managing data within grant management systems or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of grant data workflows and compliance requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R.
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and creating interactive reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
