HR Generalist (Part-Time) – Roofstock

Roofstock is a modern property management company focused on simplifying rental property ownership through technology, operational excellence, and people-first practices. We’re seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our People Operations team with compliance, data accuracy, and service desk operations.

Focus Areas

Compliance, HR data, and systems management

PeopleOps service desk operations and escalation management

Key Responsibilities

Support Roofstock's People Operations team by managing the HR service desk, including ticket intake, triage, resolution, and escalation

Assist with PeopleOps strategic initiatives through reporting, data cleanup, and execution of routine operational tasks

Maintain data accuracy and integrity in BambooHR through regular quality checks, audits, and data validation

Manage compliance training processes, including assignment, tracking, follow-ups, and reporting

Ensure consistent adherence to Roofstock's HR protocols, documentation standards, and service-level expectations

Partner cross-functionally as needed to support employee-facing PeopleOps requests

Estimated Workload

Approximately 20 hours per week

Critical Skills & Qualifications

Technical Competencies

Intermediate Excel proficiency required (sorting, filtering, basic formulas, pivot tables); advanced skills strongly preferred

Proficiency with MS Office and/or Google Workspace

Strong data entry, data validation, and quality control skills

Experience generating, formatting, and maintaining operational reports

Professional Competencies

Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy

Strong follow-through and ability to manage tasks independently

Comfort working within defined processes and protocols

Excellent documentation discipline

Clear, concise written communication skills with a professional and employee-friendly tone

Experience handling internal business or employee-facing communications

Required Experience

Experience working with HR service desks or ticketing systems

Hands-on experience with compliance tracking and reporting

Strong data analysis and data hygiene background

Experience documenting HR or operational processes

Customer service or employee-facing support experience

Documentation, filing, and records management experience

Work Parameters

Responsiveness: Same-day response to requests during standard business hours

Meetings: Weekly check-in with manager and periodic stakeholder meetings

Reporting: Weekly activity summaries and operational metrics reporting
