Serves as a case manager for complex leave and accommodation matters and coordinates short- and long-term disability processes with third party administers. </div><br><strong>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:</strong><br>This position works under minimal supervision and carries out work assignments in accordance with policies, federal or state laws, previous training or accepted human resource best practices. The incumbent is given latitude to exercise discretion and independent judgement to accomplish work.<ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on County leave programs and applicable federal and state laws, including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, USERRA, PWFA;</li><li>Coordinate and administer the FMLA process, including eligibility determination, issuance of required notices, requests for medical certification, designation of qualifying leave, tracking intermittent and reduced schedule leave, and ensuring compliance with all statutory timelines;</li><li>Administer County leave programs, including military leave, parental leave, bereavement leave, leave donation programs, and other applicable leave types;</li><li>Serve as case manager for leave and accommodation matters to ensure timely, consistent, and legally compliant documentation and communication;</li><li>Facilitate the ADA interactive process in collaboration with management and employees to assess and implement reasonable accommodations;</li><li>Research and recommend updates to leave management guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations;</li><li>Coordinate Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims with third-party administrators; monitor claim status and ensure proper integration with statutory and County leave programs;</li><li>Provide guidance to supervisors regarding workforce planning considerations related to extended leaves and workplace accommodations;</li><li>Oversee the return-to-work process for employees on leave due to non-work-related injury or illness;
