Description:
The Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting the production team by ensuring timely and accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities based on custom project requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Accurately label, store, and organize materials in designated warehouse locations.
Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production areas based on job specific bills of materials and work orders.
Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP system.
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits. Coordinate with procurement, production, and engineering teams to resolve material discrepancies or shortages.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Package and prepare outbound shipments, including custom or oversized components.
Support lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives to maintain a clean and efficient warehouse environment.
Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred
1 year of experience in materials handling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory control processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and work orders.
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended period.
